Random thoughts on my affinity for animals and dislike of roommates
It’s not so much that I’m scared of vermin. I have picked up and set free many a spider, ant, or caterpillar. I do not run from daddy long-legs and even know the interesting fact that they are not actually spiders but insects (6 legs). My favorite animal is the anaconda and in one of the high points of my life I got to hold one last year. Did you know that the capybara is the world’s largest rodent? I love zoology and entomology and all the other creature-related ologys.
What I do not like is sharing my 15 x 15 foot living space with one such creature. A rat in the subway: endlessly entertaining. A mouse dashing across my bedroom floor: alarming.
